The University Social Responsibility Network (USRN) was established in 2015, with its Secretariat located at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. As one of the founding members of USRN, Sichuan University works alongside universities worldwide to advance the Network’s core mission of building a high-level international exchange platform focused on talent cultivation, scientific research, social service, cultural heritage, and innovation. The Network brings together universities from around the world to address major global development challenges and to collaboratively advance the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Currently, USRN comprises 24 universities from around the world, including Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Yonsei University (South Korea), the University of New South Wales (Australia), Tufts University (USA), The University of Manchester (UK) and others, forming a global collaborative network dedicated to university social responsibility and sustainable development.

The biennial International USR Summit has become an important academic platform for universities worldwide to benchmark against the SDGs, share practical experiences, and build consensus for collaboration. To further promote in-depth global cooperation in university social responsibility and sustainable development, the International USR Summit 2026 will be hosted by Sichuan University in October 2026. Scholars, experts, and professionals from universities and related sectors around the world are cordially invited to submit abstracts and participate in the Summit.
